The RSA Small Catalyst Grant funding aims to provide you with an opportunity to trial or test your new or innovative idea for positive social change. Catalyst funding is intended to help your project get started.

 
Eligibility Criteria

You will need to be able to answer the following questions to proceed with your Catalyst application.
 
Are you a Fellow of the RSA? *

     
 
In order to apply for a Catalyst Grant, you must be a Fellow of the RSA. To find out more about Fellowship, please visit www.thersa.org/fellowship. If you are in the process of becoming a Fellow but have not yet had your Fellowship approved, please contact catalyst@rsa.org.uk for further information.

 
In order to be eligible for a £1-2k Catalyst grant, your project must be new or in its early stages. Does your project fit this description? *

     
 
Small Catalyst Grants are awarded to projects in their new or early stages. To discuss your project's eligibility, please contact your Area Manager. If you are not sure who this is, please email catalyst@rsa.org.uk

 
The RSA requires applicants for the £1-2k Catalyst Grant to have evidence that your project is structured in a way that supports your social aims and is governed in a specific way. Please pick one of the options below. *

Catalyst grants provide financial support to projects that aim to continue past the life of the Catalyst funding. If your project requires non-financial support, or you would like to discuss the sustainability of your project, please email catalyst@rsa.org.uk

 
Your project should align with one of the three key areas of RSA work. However, if your project is truly outstanding and falls outside the scope of our three key themes, we will consider it. We seek to fund projects that aim to have a positive impact on society and that intend to do this by solving a pressing societal problem on a new or innovative way. Does your project fit within this scope? *

You may not yet know the full extent of the positive impact your idea could have but you should have at least an aim or a goal. The purpose of the Small Catalyst Grant is to help you to test your idea and to help you gather impact of its positive impact.

Data Protection *

To proceed with your application, it is essential that we can share it with RSA staff, Fellows, and other contacts who we think can help. Your application will be passed to the Catalyst Panel for assessment. The Catalyst Panel is chaired by a Fellowship Councillor and is made up of a changing composition of Fellows and RSA staff, with a broad range of expertise and skills in funding, enterprise, organisational development and other areas. The data you submit will be stored by the RSA, and this application form is being handled via Typeform, who are a data-controller in their own right.
